🇪🇪 Estonia marinas
Estonia is a small EU country on the Baltic Sea with many islands, sheltered bays, and small ports.
Estonia
Estonia has a short Baltic coast with many islands and small ports. The country faces the Gulf of Finland in the north and the Gulf of Riga in the south. Saaremaa, Hiiumaa, Muhu, Kihnu, and Ruhnu lie in the west. The main planning points are Tallinn, Haapsalu, Parnu, and Kuressaare.
The main season runs from May to September. Weather can change quickly even in summer. Wind often strengthens after atmospheric fronts pass. The water stays cool for most of the season, and fog can affect early or late passages.
Navigation requires attention to shallow water, rocks, marked fairways, ferry routes, and harbour approaches. Open sections of the Gulf of Finland and the Gulf of Riga are best crossed only with a stable weather forecast.
Infrastructure is strongest around Tallinn, Haapsalu, Parnu, and the main island ports. Modern marinas alternate with simple berths in small ports. In high season, popular places are better booked in advance.
Best for: island routes, short summer passages, small ports, relaxed pace.
Watch out for: shallow water, rocks, fast-changing weather, ferry traffic, limited off-season services.
