Mallorca’s coast changes markedly from one shore to another. In the northwest, the Tramuntana mountains meet the sea along a high, rocky coastline. Small coves lie between the headlands in the east, while sandy beaches line the bays of Alcúdia and Pollença. Large resorts sit alongside less developed stretches of shore.
Palma offers an old town, a Gothic cathedral and lively streets with cafés and markets. The mountains reveal another side of the island: stone villages, olive terraces and walking trails. This variety gives a coastal cruise plenty of opportunities for city walks and trips into the mountains.
