Lido di Ostia is a lived-in seaside district with beach establishments and an urban promenade. Its modern streets contrast with ancient Ostia farther inland. The Roman town’s surviving streets, theatre and residential quarters deserve a separate visit. Castel Fusano pine forest adds a natural setting to the beach coast.
