Wick marinas
Wick on eastern Caithness is a port town with a herring-fishing past and access to Scotland’s northern coastal routes.
Wick
Wick occupies a bay on Caithness’s east coast. The town grew around a harbour developed for the herring industry; fishing and industrial vessels now work alongside visiting yachts.
It adds a stopping option north of the Moray Firth on a Scottish coastal voyage. Continuing towards Orkney or through the Pentland Firth requires separate planning and is not part of an ordinary arrival in Wick.
Ashore, visitors can explore old port streets and the Wick Heritage Centre. The fishing story explains the harbour’s layout and the town’s life, while the adjoining coast offers open North Sea views.
