Wells-next-the-Sea marinas
Wells-next-the-Sea in North Norfolk combines a fishing quay, tidal marshes, and a sandy beach beside pinewoods.
Wells-next-the-Sea
Wells’ town quay is separated from the open sea by a tidal channel through sand and marshes. Fishing boats share the waterfront with leisure craft, and an old granary remains a prominent feature from the water.
This stop adds an experience of Norfolk’s low coast to a sea passage. Arriving at the town quay and walking to the sea beach are different parts of the visit: the beach lies farther from the centre, beyond the tidal landscape.
Ashore, visitors can follow shopping streets and the channel-side route towards pinewoods and the beach. Marshes and sandflats attract birds, while fishing remains part of everyday life around the quays.
