Humber Estuary marinas
The Humber is a broad tidal estuary with commercial ports, Grimsby’s fishing heritage, and Hull’s old town.
Humber Estuary
The Humber opens into the North Sea between the low coasts of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Its broad waters and large ports are very different from small coastal harbours: the estuary carries substantial commercial shipping.
Grimsby lies closer to the sea entrance on the south bank, while Hull is farther inland on the north. They offer different stops, and visiting Hull adds a separate estuary passage to a coastal itinerary.
Ashore, visitors can explore Grimsby’s fishing past or walk from Hull’s docks into the old town. The area combines an industrial waterfront with maritime history and urban walks.
