About Boulogne-sur-Mer

Boulogne-sur-Mer is the largest fishing port in France and a key yachting stop along the Pas-de-Calais coast. The harbor is well protected, with reliable depths and less dependence on precise tidal windows compared to Calais.

The yacht marina is located within the port system but clearly separated from heavy commercial traffic. While the area remains tidal, currents are more predictable and generally weaker than in the Dover Strait.

Thanks to its infrastructure and location, Boulogne-sur-Mer is commonly used as a staging port for English Channel crossings or coastal passages along northern France.
