Türkiye in the Eastern Mediterranean combines Aegean bays, wooded southwestern peninsulas and the mountainous coast from Fethiye to Antalya.

In southwestern Türkiye, the indented coast supports journeys between bays, small islands and seaside towns. Bodrum, Datça, Marmaris and the Gulf of Fethiye differ from the more exposed stretches around Antalya and farther east. The Sea of Marmara and Istanbul form a distinct part of a voyage, connected to the Aegean by the Dardanelles.
Sea stops can be combined with walks through old towns and trips to ancient ruins. The coast preserves theatres, tombs and the remains of ancient ports. Wooded slopes reach the water in southwestern bays, while everyday life and tourism mingle in the coastal towns.
The southern warm season is long, but conditions vary along the coast. The northerly meltemi matters in the Aegean in summer; mild conditions inside a bay do not describe the sea beyond the next headland. Strait passages also require attention to currents and large-vessel traffic.

Arriving on a private yacht

Arrival from abroad
The first arrival is cleared at a frontier port. Confirm acceptance of a private yacht and the Transit Log procedure, recording the yacht and people aboard, in advance.
- Prepare the yacht registration, passports and a list of people aboard. Confirm the clearance location, required notices and each person’s entry conditions with the port.
Cruising within Türkiye
After clearance, retain the Transit Log and confirm whether crew or route changes require updates. Local restrictions and port instructions still apply.
- For the Dardanelles, Sea of Marmara and Bosphorus, separately confirm current traffic and radio procedures. Strait passage does not replace entry clearance into Türkiye.
Departure abroad
Before departing internationally, complete clearance at a frontier port and close the required vessel and customs records.
- If the yacht stays while the crew leaves, arrange the separate storage procedure and customs status.
