About Grisslehamn Marina

Grisslehamns Marina Guest Harbor lies in the western harbour of Grisslehamn. Its breakwater keeps the water calm, and visiting boats berth either alongside Y-booms or on buoys.

The marina provides water and electricity on the pontoons, toilets, free showers, Wi‑Fi, laundry, a shore-based pump-out station, and diesel and petrol fuel. A small shop, restaurants, and the camping area’s sauna and leisure facilities are nearby.

Harbour depths range from about 1 to 5 metres, although most berths are around 2 metres deep. Larger yachts should contact the harbour office before arrival because suitable berths are limited. Anchoring is prohibited inside the harbour.

The marina works well for an overnight stop, refuelling, provisions, and preparation for a Sweden–Åland crossing. Check the assigned berth, local depths, and current harbour instructions before arrival.

The marina is about a 15-minute walk from the ferry terminal. From there you can reach Åland (to Eckerö) in about two hours.

About 500 metres from the marina there is a large grocery store.

The marina has a fuel station and a wastewater disposal facility. To my knowledge you can also dispose of rubbish at the marina. Electricity is available for an extra charge. I do not have definite information about the availability of drinking water.

There is a large motorhome parking area along the quay.

The marina office is located in a small marina shop where you can buy ice cream, sweets and hot dogs.

The marina has a restaurant, a covered outdoor gym, a mini-golf course and a children's playground. As far as I know there is no sauna.

Toilets and showers are located in a shared building. Men and women use the same facilities, but all toilets and showers are in separate cubicles.

The marina is well protected from the wind. There are rocks near the marina, so it pays to be careful when entering and leaving the marina.

Overall the marina is not bad and has a very convenient location, it provides good shelter from the wind, but there is little room for maneuvering and many hazardous spots at the entrance. I hesitated for a moment and ran aground on a rock.

Perhaps I arrived at an inopportune time — there was some kind of celebration at the marina and the large boats were moored beam-to the quay, so some of the buoys were inaccessible and I had to make my way through shallow water to the Y-pontoon. The cleanliness of the toilets was not great — this may also have been related to the celebration. There are a large number of campsites near the marina, so it is fairly crowded around it.
