Greifswald marinas

Greifswald offers two distinct places to stop within one destination. Upriver are the old town, with brick churches, university buildings and cafés, and a museum harbour with historic vessels. At the mouth of the Ryck, Wieck retains the appearance of a fishing village, with low houses and a wooden bascule bridge. Nearby are the ruins of Eldena Abbey, known from paintings by Caspar David Friedrich. The town and its maritime history are the main reasons to visit; a berth at the river mouth offers a different experience from one near the centre.
