Blankenberge marinas
Compact North Sea resort harbour between Zeebrugge and Ostend, approached via a narrow half-mile channel between piers. This is a macrotidal coast with brisk alongshore streams; the entrance can silt after storms and turns short and steep in fresh north-westerlies. Inside, sheltered basins sit by the seafront with easy rail/tram links to Bruges.
About Blankenberge
Less than four miles west of Zeebrugge, Blankenberge offers an exposed sea entrance and calm inner basins. Tides are large and define comfortable entry windows; wind-against-tide quickly builds a short chop on the approach. Seasonal traffic is lively, but with sensible timing and visibility the run-in is straightforward. Ongoing coastal works address the entrance’s tendency to silt. Ashore, the harbour opens straight onto the promenade and gives quick connections inland—handy for crew changes and provisioning.
