Key West marinas
Key West is an island town in southern Florida with a historic harbour, maritime museums and lively waterfront streets.
Key West
A yacht stop in Key West can readily become a stay in town. The historic harbour lies on the island’s northwest shore beside Old Town, with cafés, small shops and museums within walking distance of the docks.
Local maritime history centres on trade, shipwrecks and the recovery of sunken cargo. The Mel Fisher Maritime Museum displays finds from Spanish vessels; a visit can be combined with a walk through Old Town and along the harbour.
Key West is also a departure point for Dry Tortugas. That is a separate offshore passage needing its own time allowance, rather than a brief addition to a town visit.
