Incheon is the Yellow Sea gateway to Seoul, where marina quality is strong but routes depend heavily on tides, current timing, and shallow-water discipline.
Incheon is the practical access point for the Seoul metropolitan area and one of South Korea’s most important west-coast sailing nodes. It offers excellent land-side logistics, but the sea space around it is tactically more demanding than the urban convenience might suggest.
The Yellow Sea environment means large tidal ranges, strong stream effects, extensive shallow sectors, and commercial traffic patterns that must be respected. ETA management matters here more than raw distance.
For yacht routing, Incheon is useful as a service-heavy planning stop before committing either north-south coastal movement or offshore timing windows across the western approaches. It rewards crews that plan conservatively and move on correct water.
