Nessebar’s main attraction is its old town on a small peninsula, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Medieval churches and remnants of fortifications survive among narrow streets and houses with wooden upper storeys. The sea surrounds the historic quarters on three sides.
The old town has many restaurants and small shops and draws crowds in summer. New Nessebar has a more conventional resort character, with beaches and hotels. A visit combines historic streets with time by the sea.
