Балтийск (Baltiysk, formerly Pillau) sits at the western tip of the Vistula Spit, forming the seaward entrance to the Kaliningrad (Gulf of Gdańsk) approaches. The port complex is dominated by a Russian Baltic Fleet naval base and commercial harbour facilities; civilian yachting infrastructure is limited and subject to strict control.
Marinas/harbours: there is no large international leisure marina. Civilian berths are limited to small municipal or commercial quays with few visitor places
