Klaipėda is the main sea gateway, while the Curonian Lagoon offers more protected water and a very different rhythm from the open Baltic coast. The Curonian Spit gives the route a strong landscape identity, but navigation still needs attention to channels, depths and local restrictions.

For a first visit, expect a compact choice of stops rather than a dense marina network. Open-coast passages need sensible weather windows, because shelter options are limited once you leave the main harbours. Inside the lagoon, the sailing can be calmer but more depth-conscious.
