Village Swing near Vergi Harbour
About Village Swing near Vergi Harbour
The Jaani Village Swing is located about 1 kilometre from Vergi Harbour and is a fine example of Estonia’s traditional swinging culture. For centuries, swinging has been an important part of spring and summer festivities, especially during Midsummer’s Eve. In the past, village swings were not just for children – they were lively meeting places for adults to sing, celebrate, and strengthen the sense of community. Today, such swings keep alive Estonia’s folk traditions and spirit of togetherness.
The Jaani swing can hold up to 6 adults or 8 children. Swinging is at your own risk – if you fall, stay down and do not lift your head until the swing has completely stopped. Enjoy the experience wisely and with dignity – just as our ancestors once did.
