About St. Laurentius Church

The St. Laurentius Church on Prangli Island is one of the smallest wooden churches in Estonia, completed in 1848. According to local legend, the church was built by sailors who were saved during a storm on St. Laurentius Day. Its spire is visible from afar and serves as a landmark for coastal ship captains. Near the church, there is a cemetery of the first Swedish settlers, as well as the former graveyard of the first Swedish settlers. The church is located in the village of Kelnase, approximately 1 km from the Kelnase port. The distance from Kelnase port to the church can be walked in 10-15 minutes.
