Svendborg

Svendborg lies on the southern coast of Funen in the Svendborg Sound, linking the South Funen Archipelago with the open Baltic Sea. Historically, it has been one of Denmark’s most important maritime towns, with strong traditions in shipbuilding and seafaring. 

For sailors, Svendborg offers excellent facilities, sheltered waters, and countless cruising routes among nearby islands. Navigation is generally straightforward, though attention is required for local traffic and currents in the sound. The marina is located directly next to the town centre, providing full services and easy provisioning. Svendborg is often used as a starting point for cruises toward Ærø, Langeland, and the surrounding islands.
