Kerteminde lies on the northeastern coast of Funen, directly on the Great Belt (Storebælt). Historically a fishing and trading port, it is now a popular destination for cruising yachts. Approaches are straightforward, with good depths and uncomplicated navigation even in stronger belt conditions. The marina is close to the town centre, with shops and restaurants within walking distance. Kerteminde is commonly used as a convenient stop between Zealand and Funen or before heading south toward the South Funen Archipelago.
