Bornholm

Bornholm lies in the Baltic Sea east of mainland Denmark, geographically closer to Sweden and Poland. Historically, it served as an important navigation and trade point on Baltic routes and later held strategic significance. 

For sailors, Bornholm is a distinct cruising destination involving longer offshore passages and fully self-contained harbours. Approaches are generally straightforward but require careful weather planning due to limited shelter at sea. 

The island features rocky northern coasts and gentler southern shores, with marinas distributed around its perimeter to suit different wind directions. Bornholm is commonly used as a waypoint between Scandinavia, Germany, and the southern Baltic.
