About ÅSS Marina

ÅSS Marina is one of the key guest harbour stops in Mariehamn. For yachts cruising Åland, it works as a practical town base with easy access to the capital and onward routes through the archipelago.

The marina is useful when you need a structured harbour stop between quieter island harbours. In summer it can be busy, so berth planning matters more here than at smaller outlying stops.

Mariehamn harbour is a very convenient place for crew changes. About one kilometre away is the cruise terminal where ships arrive from Stockholm, Helsinki and Tallinn.

The guest harbour is modern and clean. There are separate saunas for men and women, showers and toilets. The showers are located next to the saunas. For an extra fee it is possible to wash and dry laundry. For this, you need to sign up on the schedule in the laundry room. The same room also has an iron and an ironing board.

There are two eateries on site. From the harbour office you can buy sailing and leisure clothing, footwear and ice cream.

Because the harbour is located right in the town, you can quickly reach shops, cafés and restaurants on foot.

There is a fuel station, sewage disposal and waste containers. (Electricity and water are available too, of course.)

My favorite marina in Åland! We've visited several times, and each visit offers the same relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The showers and toilets are very convenient, the sauna is excellent, and laundry facilities are available for an additional fee. Along the waterfront, you'll find a restaurant with great cuisine and a fantastic pizzeria — in the mornings, they bake fresh sugar rings that are an absolute must-try. We also highly recommend the Maritime Museum: it has a wonderful exhibition, with the collection of old navigational instruments being especially fascinating.

A good modern marina. It happened that I stayed there for almost a week, so I had time to explore the marina and its surroundings. The marina has good showers and toilets, and the sauna is also excellent. The grocery store is nearby. About a 20-minute walk to the town center. One simple tip — when heading to Mariehamn, stock up in advance on alcohol and cigarettes. Local prices for them are simply astronomical.
