Ribadeo marinas
Ribadeo is an estuary destination on the border of Galicia and Asturias, with historic small towns, fishing harbours and green shores.
Ribadeo
Ribadeo stands on the western shore of the Eo estuary, which separates Galicia from Asturias. The town rises from its harbour to old quarters where merchants’ houses stand alongside mansions built by residents returning from the Americas. Views of the opposite shore and the changing tide are part of a walk through town.
On the Asturian side, Figueras and Castropol are small settlements with fishing histories and houses above the water. The shores become more exposed towards the mouth, while farther inland there are tidal flats and marshes. The estuary itself and the distinct towns along its banks define the area.
