Ría de Arousa

The Ría de Arousa is distinguished by broad stretches of water and numerous islands. Rows of floating mussel-growing platforms stand between its green shores. The port towns of Ribeira and Vilagarcía alternate with smaller settlements, beaches and stretches of granite coast.

On the southern side, Cambados is known for its stone-built historic centre and Albariño wine. Arousa Island has sandy coves and coastal walks, while Sálvora at the ocean entrance and Cortegada in the inner ria belong to a national park. Fishing and shellfish farming remain part of everyday life across this extensive cruising area.
