Laredo–Santoña marinas
Laredo–Santoña is a Cantabrian bay with long sandy beaches, a fishing town beneath Mount Buciero and tidal wetlands farther inland.
Laredo–Santoña
Laredo and Santoña stand on opposite sides of a bay entrance in eastern Cantabria. In Laredo, the long La Salvé beach borders resort neighbourhoods, while the Puebla Vieja old town climbs the slope above the port. Santoña has a more pronounced fishing-town character and is known for its anchovy production.
Mount Buciero rises above Santoña, with wooded slopes, coastal fortifications and seaward cliffs. Farther into the bay, sandbanks give way to extensive tidal wetlands where birds can be observed. A beach resort, a working fishing port and natural shores lie close together here.
