Hondarribia marinas
Hondarribia is a Basque town on the French border, with a fortified old centre, colourful fishermen’s houses and a beach at the Bidasoa mouth.
Hondarribia
Hondarribia stands on the Spanish shore of the Bidasoa mouth, opposite Hendaye in France. The town has two distinct parts: above are the fortified walls and stone streets of the old centre; below is the fishing quarter of La Marina, with colourful balconies, restaurants and pintxo bars.
Closer to the sea are a long beach and the yacht harbour. Beyond them, the shore rises towards Cape Higer and the green slopes of Jaizkibel. Walks around town can be followed by paths along the rocky coast, with views of the estuary, the ocean and neighbouring France.
