Cadiz marinas

Cádiz lies between the Atlantic Ocean and the inner Bay of Cádiz. The sea surrounds almost all of the old town, whose skyline includes the cathedral dome, defensive walls and the towers of merchants’ houses. Within are narrow streets, small squares, a market and bars serving fried fish and seafood.

Historic streets sit directly beside the beaches. La Caleta lies between two fortresses next to the old quarters, while a broad sandy shore follows the modern part of Cádiz. Maritime trade left a rich architectural legacy, but markets, street life and fishing traditions still shape the city’s everyday atmosphere.
