Avilés marinas
Avilés is a city on an Asturian estuary, where historic arcaded streets sit alongside a working port and the architecture of the Niemeyer Centre.
Avilés
Avilés lies inland on a narrow estuary on the Asturian coast. Port installations and industrial waterfronts dominate the arrival by water, but close to the marina is a city with a well-preserved historic centre. Stone streets, arcades, palaces and small squares make it the main place to explore ashore.
Across the estuary stands the Niemeyer Centre, a group of curving white buildings that stands out against the surrounding port landscape. Near the mouth, Salinas has a long sandy beach and gives this area a distinctly seaside-resort character.
