Faial marinas
Faial is an Azorean island with the harbour of Horta, green pastures and the Capelinhos volcano on its western shore.
Faial
Faial has a strong tradition of ocean voyaging. Horta has long been a meeting place for sailors crossing the Atlantic: crews leave paintings on the marina walls and gather at the famous Peter Café Sport bar. It is worth lingering here to meet other sailors and enjoy the atmosphere of a small port town.
Beyond Horta are green hills, rural landscapes and walking trails with ocean views. The large volcanic caldera and the almost vegetation-free coast at Capelinhos are particularly striking.
