Italy Brindisi Other
40° 39' 49" N, 17° 59' 12" EThe Punta Riso Pier is an important part of the Brindisi port’s coastal defense system. This long, straight stone pier stretches over 2 kilometers into the Adriatic Sea, acting both as a breakwater and a crucial navigational reference point. At the end of the pier stands a small green lighthouse, guiding ships safely into the harbor.
The pier is man-made and combines its technical function with a peaceful space for walking and enjoying the sea. From here, you can enjoy panoramic views of the sea, the harbor, and the historic center of Brindisi. A walk along the pier is popular among both locals and tourists, especially at sunset, when the sky and sea turn golden.
In addition to walkers, the pier also attracts anglers – it is a well-known spot for recreational fishing, where locals and visitors alike cast their lines from the rocky edge in a quiet and scenic setting.
