🇬🇮 Jahtsadamad: Gibraltar
A British Overseas Territory at the Mediterranean’s gateway: separate port/customs jurisdiction, micro-tidal waters, strong Levante/Poniente regimes in the Strait, heavy commercial/ferry traffic, and a compact but well-developed marina cluster.
Riigist: Gibraltar
Gibraltar functions as a separate port and customs jurisdiction at the western entrance to the Mediterranean. Waters are essentially micro-tidal; sea level and sea state are driven more by wind and pressure than by tide.
Levante (easterly) and Poniente (westerly) are funneled by the Strait, often strengthening; ferry and commercial movements are frequent. Approaches are well marked with active Port Control; early VHF coordination and planned channel crossings are standard practice.
Inside the Bay of Gibraltar you’ll find sheltered water for manoeuvring; outside, the open Strait can turn choppy under persistent winds. Marina infrastructure is compact and urban—fuel, service, and bunkering are all on hand.
Crew logistics are straightforward with an airport and a land border within walking distance.
