Norrqvarn marinas

Norrqvarn is a small lock area on the western section of Göta Canal, near Lyrestad. The canal, locks, and old mill buildings are at the centre of the place. It is a calm canal stop with more activity in summer.

The old mill now houses the Norrqvarn hotel and restaurant. There is a small canal museum area, a historical walking trail, and the Mini Canal, a scaled-down model of the western Göta Canal. The area also has walking, cycling, canoeing, and kayaking options.

Norrqvarn is good for a slower stop by the water. It suits crews who want a meal ashore, a short walk, or a break between the larger canal villages.

On the water, follow lock instructions and check the canal timetable before arrival. In summer, expect other boats and visitors around the lock area. Confirm guest-berth availability before stopping.
