About Wismar

Wismar sits at the head of Wismar Bay, where sea state is naturally tempered and cruising falls into short day sails. The urban harbour lines the historic core, putting provisioning, maintenance and transport within walking distance of the docks.

Approaches follow a buoyed fairway; beyond the harbour the bay opens toward Poel Island and the shallow Salzhaff, well suited to training runs and family cruising.

Summer brings regattas and visitor traffic, while the shoulder seasons still work well for quick weather windows. When planning, allow for wind-driven water-level changes; astronomical tide is small in this corner of the Baltic.
