A stop here combines naturally with a visit to the old town. Large warehouses remain beside the harbour, alongside fishing and historic vessels, cafés and fish stalls. Beyond the port are quarters of merchants’ houses, a broad market square and large brick churches. Wismar shares a UNESCO World Heritage listing with Stralsund. The main attraction is the town and its trading history rather than a beach stay.
