Parainen / Pargas marinas
Parainen, also called Pargas, combines a small town with wooden neighbourhoods, wooded islands and the broad waters of Airisto.
Parainen / Pargas
In Parainen, town life sits alongside island life. Wooden houses in the old Gamla Malmen quarter stand beside the Sundet channel, while wooded shores, villages and holiday cottages spread across the surrounding islands. A vast limestone quarry, visible from a viewing point, is an unusual local landmark.
The western shore of Stormälö faces Airisto, with a beach beside the marina and broad sea views. Farther south around Attu, small islands and rural scenery dominate. Exploring the district means travelling between harbours and islands, with time in town as just one part of the visit.
