About da Povoação Marina

Marina da Povoação is a small municipal recreational harbour installation located inside the fishing-harbour basin at Povoação on São Miguel. The facility provides berths for local recreational craft and maritime-tourism vessels and is managed by the Câmara Municipal da Povoação. Visitor berths are available alongside the recreational moorings as part of the marina layout.

Floating pontoons supply shore electricity and potable water to the berths. The marina was installed to add berthing in the village harbour and sits within the fishing-port basin. Note that regional arrival formalities for foreign yachts are handled through Ponta Delgada under regional port rules before arrival at smaller marinas in São Miguel.

A very small but fairly well-protected harbor in a picturesque location. Mostly small local and fishing boats are moored here. I saw one sailing yacht on the long quay; in my impression, there may be depth restrictions here for deep-draft yachts, so it's better to check in advance. The pontoons have water and electricity. For a short stop or overnight stay the place seems quite suitable: there's a pretty town around, with many cafes and restaurants nearby. I can't say anything about showers, toilets, and other services — I was here on foot, not by yacht.
