About Lošinj

Lošinj Island lies south of Cres and historically developed as a maritime and shipbuilding center of the Adriatic. The narrow channel between Cres and Lošinj gives the area a distinctive nautical character while remaining well charted and equipped.

For sailors, Lošinj is valued for its reliable berths, good depths, and developed infrastructure. Most yachting activity is concentrated in Mali Lošinj, a long and deep harbor offering excellent protection and suitability for larger yachts.

The island is often used as a base for passages toward central and southern Dalmatia or for longer stays. The atmosphere is less resort-oriented than Istria and more distinctly maritime.
