Ibiza is a day-sailing playground: micro-tidal waters, a reliable summer embat sea-breeze, heavy ferry traffic in the Es Freus strait to Formentera, and strict anchoring rules due to Posidonia seagrass and protected areas (Ses Salines, Es Vedrà).

To the south, the Es Freus channel is narrow, buoyed and busy with ferries—keep a sharp lookout and mind VHF procedures. The Ses Salines natural park covers parts of the Ibiza–Formentera waters, with no-anchoring zones and regulated mooring fields. On the southwest coast, the Es Vedrà–Es Vedranell & Illots de Ponent reserve adds further environmental restrictions.
Posidonia is strictly protected: anchor on sand or pick up authorized buoys; fines apply for damage. Summer brings the embat sea-breeze; tides are small and wind setup dominates sea level.
