Jahtsadamad: Emden

Emden lies on the Ems estuary and has long been a key port of East Frisia. Access and navigation in the area are tide-dependent and require careful adherence to buoyed fairways. For yachtsmen, Emden is primarily a transit harbour when sailing along the coast or heading toward the Netherlands. Most yacht berths are located in inner basins, offering excellent shelter from wind and sea. 

The city has a distinctly industrial character rather than a leisure focus, but provides good provisioning and services. Emden is commonly used as a calm overnight stop between offshore legs.
