О месте Porvoo
Porvoo, located on Finland's southern coast, provides sailors with a sheltered approach via the Porvoonjoki River from the Gulf of Finland. The primary marina, Porvoo Guest Harbour (Porvoon vierassatama), situated conveniently near the historic Old Town, offers approximately 70 berths with mooring buoys and alongside docking. Facilities include fresh water, electricity, showers, toilets, waste disposal, fuel station, and Wi-Fi. Depths in the marina range from 2 to 3 meters, suitable for most recreational yachts.
Sailing conditions are generally calm, with prevailing southwesterly winds during the sailing season from May to September. Currents in the river are minimal, but sailors should monitor depth carefully when approaching upriver. Navigation markers clearly indicate the channel, and charts are accurate and reliable.
Historically, Porvoo has maritime significance dating back to medieval trade routes, and its charming waterfront reflects centuries of nautical heritage, making it a popular stopover for cruising yachtsmen.
