Additional mooring options are available at Kotka Yacht Harbour (Kotkan Pursiseura), accommodating around 100 vessels with similar amenities.

Sailing conditions around Kotka are typically moderate, with prevailing southwesterly winds during the sailing season from May to September. Currents are minimal, and navigation is straightforward, though attention is required near coastal shallows and marked channels. Depths in the main approaches generally exceed 5 meters.

Kotka holds maritime historical significance, notably the Battle of Svensksund (1790), one of the largest naval battles in Baltic history, fought in nearby waters.
