Ljusterö, located in Stockholm's northern archipelago, is a popular sailing destination known for its sheltered waters and scenic anchorages. The island hosts several marinas and harbors suitable for yachtsmen, notably Linanäs Gästhamn and Klintsundet Marina. Linanäs Gästhamn provides approximately 100 berths, equipped with electricity, fresh water, fuel, showers, toilets, waste disposal, and nearby provisioning options. Klintsundet Marina offers around 50 berths, electricity, water, and basic amenities.

Sailing conditions around Ljusterö are generally calm, with prevailing southwesterly winds during the sailing season from May to September. Waters surrounding the island are well-charted, but sailors should remain cautious of shallow areas and rocky outcrops, particularly near shorelines and narrow passages. Currents are minimal, and tidal variations negligible.
