Rostock stretches along the lower Warnow and reaches the Baltic via the seaside district of Warnemünde.

The city harbour places visiting crews right in town—maintenance, provisioning and transport are within walking distance of the quays.

A long, well-marked fairway leads to the sea; ferries and cruise traffic are frequent near the entrance, so plan channel crossings with care. At the mouth, Warnemünde offers two key bases: the new marina on the Mittelmole and the large facility across the channel at Hohe Düne.

Typical day sails run along the rim of the Mecklenburg Bight—west toward Kühlungsborn and Wismar, east toward the Darß-Zingst coast. The inner Warnow is calmer than the open bay, suiting training runs and short outings.

Summer brings a busy regatta calendar and waterfront events, while shoulder seasons still reward quick weather windows. Allow for wind-driven water-level changes and bridge/traffic constraints within the harbour approaches.
