О месте Medemblik

Set on the IJsselmeer in North Holland, Medemblik is a major Dutch sailing hub and frequent host of international regattas.

Stadshavens Medemblik runs the town harbours: Oosterhaven (city-centre; floating sanitary building; KNRM station), Westerhaven (quiet marina; 141 berths), Pekelharinghaven (230 berths for yachts up to 20 m, beside Radboud Castle), plus Overlekerkanaal (87 berths).

Access to the inner waters is through Westerhavensluis; dimensions: 6.9 m beam, sill depths ~2.6–2.9 m, closed-bridge clearance ~0.85 m; off-season operation is on request.

Working channels: Ooster/Wester/Overlekerkanaal VHF 9; Pekelharinghaven VHF 31.

City walls and Radboud Castle are conspicuous near the entrances; the Regatta Center sits on open water within walking distance of the old town.

Regatta Center Medemblik regularly hosts United4/Dutch Youth Regatta and class world events, with berths for roughly 10–24 m yachts.

The IJsselmeer is non-tidal; water levels are managed by Rijkswaterstaat and affected by wind set-up, and fresh W–SW breezes often create the lake’s well-known short, steep chop.

In practice, use the Regatta Center for immediate access to open water, and the town harbours for central, sheltered moorings.
