Scheveningen is The Hague’s sea harbour with a direct North Sea approach managed by the municipal Port Authority.
Approaching or departing, yachts report to Traffic Center Scheveningen on VHF 21; the marina/harbourmaster works VHF 31.
Spring tidal range off the beach is roughly 2.1–2.3 m, producing noticeable streams by the breakwaters.
The coast has a maritime climate with predominantly SW–W winds, so short steep seas are common in onshore flows.
Primary visiting facility is Jachtclub Scheveningen inside the harbour (first stop at the passantenkom, no advance box reservations).
For sheltered inland moorings (low bridge clearances, not mast-up) look to club marinas on the city canals and the Vlietland/Leidschendam lake area.
