The town sits in a sheltered inner bay on the Lycian shore, with direct access to routes toward Kekova. Cruising is naturally day-sail style—short legs along the coast and across to the Kekova anchorages.

Approaches and berthing inside the basin are calm; provisions, yards and transport are within walking distance. This is a micro-tidal area: wind and pressure drive sea level and sea state; summers bring a reliable sea-breeze pattern with occasional northerly Aegean-style pulses.

Traffic is busy with charter, dive boats and tour craft—plan channel crossings early and keep a continuous VHF watch. Overall, Kaş works as a practical urban base with dense services and predictable short-hop planning.
