Gotland, Sweden's largest island, situated centrally in the Baltic Sea, is a favored sailing destination offering several well-equipped marinas and harbors. Visby Harbor, the primary marina, provides approximately 250 berths with good shelter, fuel, fresh water, electricity, showers, laundry, and waste disposal facilities. Visby Marina is conveniently located near the historic medieval town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, providing easy access to provisioning and local amenities.

Additional harbors include Slite on the northeast coast, offering around 50 berths, fuel, water, electricity, and basic amenities, and Klintehamn on the west coast, smaller but suitable for visiting yachts. Mooring buoys and anchorages are limited; sailors should rely primarily on established harbors.

Sailing conditions around Gotland are moderate, with prevailing southwesterly winds during summer months (May to September). Currents are generally mild, but sailors should remain cautious of shallow areas and rocky shoals near the coastline. Historically, Gotland has been a strategic maritime hub, notably during medieval trade routes of the Hanseatic League.
