О месте Łeba

Łeba sits between the Baltic and coastal lakes at the river’s mouth, framed by wide sandy beaches. Just east of town begins Słowiński National Park, where wind-driven dunes rise to ~30 m and migrate a few meters each year.

The Łeba River links the sea with brackish Lake Łebsko inside the park—Pomerania’s largest lake and among the biggest in Poland.

About 10 km to the east stands Stilo Lighthouse, a handy coastal landmark and shore excursion. From a cruising perspective, Łeba is a natural hub for the central coast: easy day sails west toward Ustka or east toward Władysławowo and the Hel Peninsula. The shoreline is open, so onshore winds bring surf; in summer, reliable sea-breeze days often create gentle weather windows.

This stretch of the Baltic is effectively non-tidal; water levels are driven mainly by wind setup and seiches rather than astronomical tide. Overall, it’s a convenient base “between sea and sand”—an urban stopover with unique dunes on the doorstep and short coastal hops in both directions.
