О месте Gdańsk

Gdańsk greets visiting sailors in the very heart of its Old Town, with the marina on the Motława set among brick warehouses and shipyard heritage. The approach is straightforward: follow the buoyed port fairway into the inner waters and turn onto the calm river for easy berthing and provisioning.

As part of the Tri-City, short day hops to Gdynia and Sopot make natural “urban routes.” A little farther east, the Hel Peninsula and sheltered Puck Bay open up; the shallows there reward disciplined navigation along buoyed channels and leading lines.

The coastline is mostly sandy and even, services are plentiful, and the metropolitan setting simplifies logistics ashore.

This stretch of the Baltic is effectively non-tidal: water levels respond more to wind and pressure than to the moon. Prevailing winds are westerly to south-westerly; in summer, sea-breeze days often provide gentle windows with modest seas. The main season runs May to September, bringing long daylight, full marina services, and lively waterfront events.

Shoulder months are cooler and breezier, yet the city marina remains a practical base for quick outings. Traffic can be busy with tour boats and commercial vessels, so keep a sharp lookout and stay responsive on VHF.
