Марины: Stralsund
Stralsund sits on the Strelasund strait at the “gateway to Rügen”: sheltered, shallow bodden waters, a city-centre marina, and easy day hops across the strait to Rügen and Hiddensee; the high bridge is always passable, the old drawbridge opens on schedule.
О месте Stralsund
Stralsund lies at the head of the Strelasund, where sea state is naturally tempered and cruising falls into short day sails. The urban harbour sits beside the historic old town and museum quay, putting visiting crews right in the city.
Two crossings connect to Rügen: a high-clearance cable-stayed bridge and the older bascule causeway that opens on a schedule—key for tall masts. Southeastward the waters open into the Bay of Greifswald, shallow and generally calm, well suited to training and family cruising.
Navigation follows buoyed channels; traffic is busier near narrows and bridge approaches. Summer brings regattas and Wednesday racing; in the shoulders it remains a practical base for quick weather windows. Logistics are straightforward: repair, provisioning and transport are within walking range, with short transits between berths along harbour arms and the strait.
Plan for wind-driven water-level changes rather than astronomical tide. From Stralsund, natural routes loop around Rügen—to Hiddensee, Sassnitz, or the quieter bodden waters on the island’s east.
