Nyborg lies on the eastern coast of Funen, directly at the Great Belt (Storebælt). Historically, it was Denmark’s main crossing point between Funen and Zealand, with strong royal and commercial significance. Today, Nyborg is a classic staging harbour for yachts preparing to cross the Belt, where weather and tidal currents are critical factors. Approaches are well marked with good depths, though strong currents can occur in the strait.
The marina is close to the town centre and Nyborg Castle, offering easy access to services and provisioning. It is a popular stop for yachts transiting between Zealand, Funen, and the southern Baltic.
